The Institute of Telecommunications and Multimedia Applications (iTEAM) received last Tuesday, March 12, the visit of the Valencia Local Police.

The visit to the facilities took place due to the interest of the Valencia Local Police Force—The Local Police—in collaborating with institutions dedicated to technological innovation to develop innovative solutions framed in the use of drones and communication systems supported by 5G technology.

The group of the Valencia Local Police that visited the immersive communications laboratory was formed by Inspector José L. Diego, from the European Projects Section; Inspector Ms. Amelia Escrivá, from the Communications Laboratory; Inspector Mr. Pablo Quiñonero, from the Information Systems Department, and Officer Ms. Carmen Castro from the European Projects Section.

The visit ended in a tour of the facilities of the institute’s new immersive communications laboratory, where they were able to see the equipment in latest technologies supported by data transmission through the 5G network that the laboratory has available.

iTEAM has the first proprietary and private-use 5G network deployed within the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), so its facilities are the propitious place to collaborate in the development of innovative technological proposals that reinforce and facilitate the great work carried out by the Valencia Local Police.
