COP-PILOT
Collaborative Open Platform for Piloting Services across emerging smart IoT and Edge computing environments
Description
COP-PILOT develops a Collaborative Open Platform framework designed to orchestrate end-to-end services across various industrial sectors. The platform offers a flexible solution for managing multiple industries with enhanced security, automation, and intelligence, while also ensuring interoperability with underlying technologies such as IoT platforms and central infrastructures.
The project enables the development of advanced applications across multiple sectors through next-generation network services, improving security, resource management, and automation capabilities. The implementation strategy focuses on two main approaches:
- Platform implementation, using a modular architecture with an easy-to-use generative AI interface.
- Integration in real environments, with tests in four major pilot clusters in sectors such as energy, smart cities, agriculture, and manufacturing industry.
CHALLENGE // OBJECTIVE
Cluster 2, located in Valencia (Spain), focuses on sustainable smart city scenarios. Its specific objectives include:
Obj#2.1:
Evaluate smarter and more sustainable mobility and data management solutions for various use cases.
Obj#2.2:
Integrate and validate intelligent IoT platforms and devices in large-scale testing in the city of Valencia.
Obj#2.3:
Increase sustainability and quality of life in real-world scenarios through the adoption of the proposed solutions.
Impact on Society
Immersive experiences in the educational field bring significant advances in both students’ understanding of content and current teaching methodologies. Some of these advances are:
• Improvements in sustainability and energy efficiency of urban infrastructures, reducing environmental impact.
• Optimization of traffic and urban mobility, enabling smarter and more sustainable transportation solutions.
• Increased quality of life for citizens through the integration of IoT devices into urban infrastructure.
• Promotion of collaboration between industrial sectors and public administrations, fostering the development of more resilient and efficient smart cities.
Applications
Immersive learning is an educational approach that uses advanced technologies to create highly interactive and immersive learning experiences. It is characterized by the use of technological tools and resources that allow students to immerse themselves in virtual environments, whether realistic (simulated) or fictional. These experiences are primarily visual and auditory, although they can also be tactile through haptic devices. Immersive realities (VR, AR, XR) have the potential to significantly enhance learning in specific cases, not only by generating a sense of immersion in each environment but also by allowing the manipulation of digital objects in 3D.
