The Advancing-5G-Digital Twins project envisions a transformative era where real-time digital twins of physical entities revolutionize logistics, industry, and port operations. Leveraging advanced 5G technologies (5G-Advanced), the project leads the development of digital twins: 3D virtual models seamlessly connected with their physical counterparts. These solutions enable the digitalization and integration of sensor data, robotics, and vehicles, offering real-time interactivity and enhancing decision-making in complex environments.
Digital twins require advanced data collection, virtualization, and analysis capabilities. By using 5G-A-IoT, IoT-Edge-Cloud platforms, and high-performance computing, the project creates an ecosystem for developing smart and interoperable applications. The project Advancing-5G-Digital Twins. 5G-IoT-edge-cloud computing platform (TSI-063000-2021-112) focuses on the development of a self-managed IoT-to-edge-to-cloud computing platform. Its main focus is the design and development of a 5G-Advanced IoT (5G-A-IoT) proof-of-concept prototype and the deployment of an Edge-to-Cloud computing self-managed platform, that sets the baseline for a flagship 6G application laboratory for industrial and logistics environments.
