Description
The 5G NACAR project is part of the UNICO Sectorial 5G program, an initiative from the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Public Administration to fund experimental development projects for applications and services enabled by 5G that drive digital transformation in key sectors of the economy.
Its objective is to advance the implementation of new services through the development of APIs that integrate advanced capabilities of 5G and 5G+ networks into various environments and market sectors. These APIs will allow developer communities to deploy specialized applications more quickly and efficiently.
CHALLENGE // OBJECTIVE
The main objective is to develop the core technology to implement libraries aimed at programmers.
Additionally, the project encompasses seven technical objectives related to enabling advanced functionalities in various components of mobile networks:
- Development of technology to integrate advanced 5G+ network services into sector-specific applications.
- Control and monitoring of radio for applications.
- Control of the 5G+ core for applications.
- Control of 5G+ devices for applications.
- Access to statistics and analytics of 5G+ for applications.
- Control and integration of applications in 5G+ environments for applications.
- Control of network services at the edge (Edge) in 5G+ environments for applications.
IMPACT ON SOCIETY
The project aims to facilitate the deployment and use of the innovative capabilities of 5G networks, reducing the gap between technological advancements and their practical application in the business sector.
Through scalable, adaptable, and easy-to-implement business models, the goal is to accelerate the adoption of 5G technology in sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, entertainment, and healthcare. This will not only allow companies to incorporate the advantages of 5G (high speed, low latency, and greater bandwidth) but also to develop their own solutions based on this technology, fostering innovation and operational efficiency.
Ultimately, the project aspires to be a catalyst for 5G adoption, promoting a modern, interconnected business environment capable of meeting future demands, driving economic development and technological advancement globally.
